Extra options: UPGRADE YOUR Unmanned Aviation Vehicle (UAV)
The basic system package can be expanded with a wide variety of options. Operators can adapt the system to meet certification requirements, increase overall performance, expand mission capabilities or increase the datalink range range. All options can be integrated into the HEF 32 system ex factory and can be selected independently of each other.
Please find the possible options below or in the menu.
Tracking antenna
INCREASE YOUR DATALINK RANGE AND THROUGHPUT
The tracking antenna can be used to significantly increase the maximum communication range as compared to the omni-directional antenna system. It is based on a rugged pan & tilt unit, high gain antenna system and telescopic mast.
The tracking antenna maintains the full MIMO capability of the HEF 32’s communication system and it can be tuned to the entire set of available communication frequencies, ex factory. At maximum transmission power, depending on weather conditions and frequency of choice, the tracking antenna provides in excess of 10 Mbps datarate at a line-of-sight range of more than 40 kilometers from the Ground Control Station.
The entire tracking antenna kit is supplied in its own rugged transportation case and can be built-up or disassembled in a matter of minutes. The supplied pneumatic mast allows a maximum elevation of the communication antennae of 6.0 meters.
Stand-alone tracking antenna
FURTHER INCREASE YOUR RANGE AND FLEXIBILITY
The stand-alone tracking antenna offers the same functionality as the conventional tracking antenna, but is constructed to be a stand-alone self-functioning system, independently from the Ground Control Station. As such, it does not need any physical connection to the Ground Control Station or its periphery and can easily be positioned in another location.
The antenna is supplied with a power box, which allows the system to continue to operate for extended periods after a loss of external electrical power. The kit is built-up of the tracking antenna itself, power box, periphery and transportation box.
This system is used by operators who need the capabilities of the tracking antenna but intend to mount the system high-up on masts, buildings or higher terrain. It also allows an operator to use one location for the tracking antenna without having to carry the system around when changing take-off locations.
Tracking antenna stabilisation
STABILISE THE TRACKING ANTENNA ON SHIPS
The tracking antenna system can be expanded by a stabilisation option, which will counteract unwanted motions of the supporting structure of the system. When the tracking antenna is integrated on a ship, the stabiliser compensates for the ships movement to maintain correct alignment of the antenna to the UAV.
Mode S ADS-B transponder
INTEGRATE YOUR UAV IN SEGREGATED AIRSPACE
The HEF 32 can be equipped with an aviation transponder. The system can be operated and controlled from the Ground Control Station. It is designed according to FAA TSO standards, complies fully with 2020 ADS-B requirements, transmits ADS-B out and comes with an integral altitude encoder.

Emergency flotation kit
MARITIME EMERGENCY RECOVERY SYSTEM
The HEF 32 can be equipped with an emergency flotation system, which is designed to inflate automatically in the unlikely event of a water landing. The inflated bag has a volume of 25 liters and can keep the HEF 32 afloat for several days. The bag’s inflation system is based on CO2, operates automatically without electrical power and can be deactivated for airline transport or storage. The system is not triggered by precipitation and can be used through all weather conditions which the HEF 32 is cleared for. The entire kit is re-usable after inflation.
Snow skids
OPERATE FROM UNSUPPORTING SURFACES
The HEF 32 can be equipped with a set of lightweight snow skids, for operations from soft terrain like snow and slush. The skids are designed to allow continued normal operation of the aircraft’s weight-on-wheels system and create only a minor performance degradation. They can be mounted and removed from the HEF 32’s landing gear in a matter of minutes.
Extra training and maintenance equipment
TRAIN MORE PILOTS AND EXPAND YOUR MAINTENANCE CAPABILITIES
The basic system package includes training for 2 pilots. High Eye offers additional training courses for more pilots and maintenance personnel.
It may be desirable to build up maintenance workshops in different locations. Additional maintenance equipment, tools and spare parts can be ordered seperately from the basic system package.
